These are the terms for using Ovela. We've tried to write them like a human talking to a human, because the alternative is insulting. By creating an account or using the app, you're agreeing to what's below.
What Ovela is
Ovela is a wellness companion for women going through perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause. It helps you track what you're feeling, learn about what's happening in your body, and have supportive conversations with an AI companion called Ovela.
Ovela is an educational and emotional support tool. It is not a healthcare provider, a clinic, or a substitute for one.
Nothing in Ovela — not the articles, not the tips, not the conversations — is medical advice. Ovela does not diagnose conditions, prescribe anything, or replace a conversation with your GP, specialist, or any qualified healthcare professional.
If you're worried about a symptom, if something feels wrong, or if you're making decisions about hormones, medication, or your health more broadly — please speak to your GP. Ovela is here to support that conversation, not replace it.
In an emergency, call your local emergency services straight away.
Your account
To use most of Ovela, you'll need an account. When you create one, you agree to:
- Give us accurate information about yourself.
- Keep your login details private.
- Be at least 18 years old. Ovela isn't built for children.
- Use the app for yourself, not on behalf of someone else without their knowledge.
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time, no questions asked, no forms to fill in.
Conversations with Ovela
Ovela's chat is powered by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. She's warm, she's informed, and she tries hard to be helpful — but she's not perfect, and she's not a doctor.
Ovela can be wrong. She can misremember. She can say something that sounds confident but isn't quite right. Please treat her responses as a starting point for understanding, not as the final word on anything that affects your health.
Every session, Ovela reminds you that she's here to educate and support — not to replace your GP or provide medical advice. Please take that reminder seriously.
Subscriptions and payments
Ovela has a free tier with a limited number of messages to Ovela, and a paid subscription that unlocks unlimited conversation and premium learning content.
- Subscriptions are billed through the App Store or Google Play using their standard billing systems. We never see or store your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel. You can cancel any time through your device's subscription settings.
- Refund requests are handled through the App Store or Google Play according to their refund policies.
- Prices may change. If they do, we'll tell you before the change affects your subscription.
How to use Ovela well
A few things we ask of you:
- Don't try to break, hack, or reverse-engineer the app.
- Don't use Ovela to generate content that's harmful, illegal, or hateful toward others.
- Don't scrape or copy Ovela's content for commercial use.
- Don't pretend to be someone you're not, or share someone else's information without their permission.
If someone misuses the app in a serious way, we may suspend or close their account.
Content in Ovela
The articles, tips, designs, and original text inside Ovela belong to us. You're welcome to read them, learn from them, and share a link to the app — but please don't republish them as your own.
Anything you write inside Ovela — your diary, your reflections, your chat messages — belongs to you. We just store it safely on your behalf and show it back to you.
What we can and can't promise
We build Ovela with care and we take your experience seriously. But we can't promise the app will be perfect, uninterrupted, or free of bugs. Sometimes things break. When they do, we fix them.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Ovela is provided "as is", and we're not responsible for outcomes that come from relying on the app in place of qualified support. Please make health decisions with a real human professional who knows you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. If we make a change that meaningfully affects you, we'll tell you inside the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Ovela after that means you've accepted the new version.
